Hike in Wadi Kelt

On Erev Shabbat, Parshat Ki Tavo, Rav Zahtz accompanied the talmidim on a hike of Wadi Kelt (Nachal Prat), where Hashem gave certain directives to Yirmiyahu HaNavi. Learning the story inside the Tanach is one thing, but to experience it and walk these paths themselves brings a different level of appreciation! The students enjoyed the hike very much, jumping into the beautiful pools in the wadi and taking in the stunning views of Midbar Yehuda. After the hike, they continued towards Mitzpeh Yericho for Shabbat, where they were joined by the Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Greenberg shlita, Rav Bannett and his family, and Rav Zahtz and his family.

Over Shabbat, the Rosh Yeshiva spoke about the importance of the Hebrew language and the Land of Israel to the Jewish People. The talmidim took a guided tour of the area over Shabbat and were able to get a feeling for the importance of the region. The weekend culminated with a powerful shmuz before Selichos given by Rav Moshe Benovitz, an alumnus of the Yeshiva.
