Shraga Schmeidler

Born on the 1st of Kislev, 5698, in Poland
Fell on the 29th of Iyar, 5727, in the Straits of Jidi

Shraga, the son of Rina, studied at the Yeshivot Heichal HaTalmud and Yishuv HaChadash in his youth and later joined Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh. He was drafted by the IDF into Nachal, and at the end of his service was transferred to the armored corps.

As a perceptible expression of his character, he fulfilled the advice of the sages, "Exile yourself to a place of Torah," by arriving at Kerem B'Yavneh from Tel Aviv on his bicycle.

His whole self expressed nobility: he respected others, his ways were modest, he did many good deeds, and set time for learning Torah. His love was divided between his parents and family members on the one hand, and the threesome of Torah, the Nation of Israel, and the Land of Israel on the other. Truth, which was the foundation of his personality, was like a pillar of fire to him, guiding all of his actions, and through it he built his home together with his wife, Hilda.

May His Memory Be Blessed
