Irving and Marian Lerner Torah Tape Audio Center

Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh has a great variety of shiurim every week. Since 5755/1995, the Yeshiva has run an internal tape library, enabling the students to review, and listen to shiurim while traveling and while in the army. The library has grown tremendously, and also acquired tapes of outside speakers. It now loans out to talmidim approximately 200 tapes every week.

In 5759/1999, the Irving and Marian Lerner Torah Tape Audio Center was endowed by the Lerner family, headed by Mr. Betzalel Lerner and his brothers, Rav Pesach and Moshe Dovid Lerner (all alumni), in honor of their parents' 50th anniversary. The Irving and Marian Lerner Torah Tape Audio Center has a dual purpose. First and foremost, with these tapes we hope to enlarge the total amount of Torah being learned throughout the world. This is especially easy with tapes, as one can learn in otherwise "useless" time, such as while waiting and traveling. In addition, the library enables alumni to return to their roots, to review topics they learned while studying in the Yeshiva and to hear new ones. The atmosphere and voices of the Yeshiva will be renewed all over the world.

The shiurim have been divided into categories and sub-topics. Different Ramim, of course, have different styles and cover different areas of study. The Gemara shiurim are mostly from the weekly shiur klali given by the Rosh Hayeshiva and Rav Kav shlita, as well as the weekly shiur of Rav Z.N. Goldberg shlita. A number of Ramim give sichot on Parshat Hashavua. The Tanach shiurim in the Yeshiva are primarily by the Mashgiach, Rav Rivlin shlita. Topics in mussar and machshava are by the Rosh Hayeshiva, Rav Rivlin and many others. In addition to the shiurim and sichot listed, there are many others still being sorted and categorized.

Unfortunately, very few (less than 30!) of the shiurim of Maran Rosh Hayeshiva zt"l were recorded in the Yeshiva. We therefore ask any alumni who have clear recordings of the Rosh Hayeshiva zt"l to please send a copy to the Yeshiva, and it will be added to the Audio Center.

We hope that listening to the voices of KBY will soon be part of your daily routine!
