Rav Meir Orlian

Rav Meir Orlian grew up in New York, and attended Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh in 1983-5. He is a graduate of Yeshiva University; received semicha from Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS), where he was a student of Rabbi Mordechai Willig and Rabbi Hershel Schachter; and holds an M.A. in Tanach. He continued his gemara and halacha studies in the Gruss Kollel Elyon of RIETS, after which he was appointed Shoel U'maishiv /S'gan Mashgiach of the Mazer Yeshiva Program at Y.U. In addition, he taught Hebrew language and Tanach at Yeshiva College.

Rav Orlian made Aliya with his family in 1996 to Kerem B'Yavneh, where he gives a daily bekiut shiur to the overseas students, and is a member of the Kollel Dayanut. He also serves as Shoel U'maishiv, answering questions of the talmidim. He maintains an open and friendly rapport with the overseas student body, and hosts talmidim on a regular basis for a weekly "bayit cham," for shabbat meals, and other special occasions. Rav Orlian is also the Israeli editor of the Kerem B'Yavneh website.
