Yom Yerushalaim 5777

Assistant Rosh Yeshiva Rav Aharon Friedman shlita opened the yeshiva celebrations of Yom Yerushalayim 5777, marking 50 years after the reunification of the city, with a special sicha. This was followed by a celebratory Tefillat Arvit and dancing in the Beit Midrash.

After the tefilla, there was a special seuda in the chadar ochel. The guest speaker was Rav Daniel Shilo shlita, an alumnus of the first class of avreichim in the yeshiva. Rav Shilo shared his recollections of the fear and trepidation that had seized the country prior to the Six Day War, as well as the amazing miracles that took place during the war, from his perspective as a talmid of the yeshiva during that time.

On the day of Yom Yerushalayim, students and staff arose early to travel to Yerushalayim to join the special tefilla at the Kotel. They continued with a tour of the walls of the Old City, singing and dancing in gratitude to Hashem for the past miracles and in anticipation of the building of the Beis HaMikdash.
